AN INTERVIEW WITH ANISH

I am Anish Kuriakose. I published my first fictional book in December 2020. I believe in following my own dreams rather than what others set for me. Everyone is free to dream and make it reality is the best thing you can achieve in life. I always kept different paths open and try different stuff. I mostly received discouragement from people saying “oh that will take time” or “It’s difficult for you”, etc. But in the end, I just believed in myself and followed my dream no matter what anyone said.
- Are you happy about being an Author? Feel free to write your biography and pour your heart out here 🙂
Yes, I am really happy about being an Author. I had always a wild imagination. I used day dream a lot. Suddenly one day it just hit my mind. Why not write a book? There I was writing a book. I started writing five years ago and finished a three-book series. But then felt something had to modified about that book. It was not way too wild. Then I took a pause and took me some while but finally I started writing again. I modified my story again and again and finally came out with a blast. Now I am working on a six-book series named Ranxus. I am really happy that I can express my wild imaginations on the paper and entertain my audience. Hopefully they can also pick up positive things from those. Being an author has really given me a freedom towards CREATIVE WRITING.
- What’s your inspiration as an author?
I drew inspirations from mainly Japanese Anime which I watched a lot and I still watch it. I love playing games PC as well as Mobile games, so that added to my inspiration. Even movies have been a great help. They inspired me so much to form a completely new idea. The ideas came like swoosh and finally ended with a baam.
- What are the best things or positive things about your stories ?
I love writing multigendered books with diversified characters, thrilling and unique storylines, entertainment, etc. Best things always vary from person to person but I like to think of the upcoming books as a vastness of adventure through different worlds awakening the readers curiosity about varieties of characters and plots. I hope it will help them with creative thinking and also learn quite few positive things from my books.
- Which book or books have you published and which are in pipeline? (( You can also write about each of them if you wish to)
I published my first book named Ranxus: Wingblade Unleashed in December 2020. It’s the first book in the six-book series Ranxus. I am currently working on the sequel to my first book. I won’t be revealing the name right now as I would like to keep it a suspense. There will be more exciting books coming in future.
- How to deal with a “Writer’s Block”?
Every writer has the point where he/she goes blank and that is writer’s block. Even I had a writer’s block. When I come across a block, what I do is, stop writing. Take a break and go and watch anime, play games or watch movies to find inspiration as well as entertain myself. Then as soon as I start forming ideas, I get back to writing.
- Any “Top tips” for writers starting out?
If you are just starting out, here are few tips to help:
- A storyline has to be sought out. But don’t focus on the whole storyline. Formulate the beginning and the end first. Once you do that you can slowly make the body.
- Focus on what type of characters you want. Associate that character with each storyline.
- Take your time to formulate the storyline. Don’t rush.
- When you are out of ideas, take a break and do some other stuff.
- What are the problems that you have faced in your Author journey?
The main problem I faced in my author journey would be a writer’s block. I have many times come up with blank ideas and all I did was take a break and do my regular stuff until I came up with an idea. I never rushed. I modified my story three times before I got it published.
- How did you approach the writing process? Do you have a set routine or does it vary?
I don’t keep a set of routines for writing process. What I do is when I have an idea, I just type it out on my laptop and I keep doing it as I get ideas. Then I take a break when I am out of ideas and do other stuff. Suddenly an idea strikes again and there I am typing it out. So, the main thing to do in a writing process is never make routines. Just type or write when you get an idea and if needed you can later modify it when you get a new idea.
- For you , what makes a great story ?
Whether its fiction or non-fiction, if the readers enjoy reading it, that makes a great story.
- What Genre of Books do you create and Why you chose it ?
I just have published my first Sci-fi, Fantasy, Action, Adventure and Thriller book named Ranxus: Wingblade Published. I chose it because I have been interested to write fantasy and sci-fi genre books. But I will be writing other genre books too in future.
