AN INTERVIEW WITH HOLYONE TOMBARI DODOH
Are you happy about being an Author?
I’m happy as an author and I love everything I do when sitting in front of my notebook. I also write and compose music as well. Idea is one of the greatest gift of nature which I admire most and putting those ideas in writing is a lovely thing for any author or aspirant.
Aside writing, I have featured in several music concerts as a Pianist and has performed as a choir instructor, piano tutor, music arranger and church keyboardist in protestant churches in Nigeria.
What's your motivation as an author?
Hmm, this is not an easy question for me to answer though, the thing is, a lot of things motivate me but one that tends to be above all other is the possibility of life in the universe, for instance on Earth, is something that is mysterious for one to fathom.
That is one of the things that motivates me to do whatever I’m doing. Sometimes, I feel so bad for the less privileged and depressed individuals.
So I tend to solve their problem by bringing up ideas and motivational quotes that will help give hope and sustain them from falling out of their place in life.
Which book or books have you published, and which are in pipeline?
I have published several books but among all, I will mention three. I’ve published “Mars 2140” a science fiction that suggests a possible way of making Planet Mars habitable for humans. I think scientists or Mars aspirants may want to take a look.
Another one on the list is “The Black Lands”; it is a tragic and horrific story about an alien creature, which lives on a strange island protected by storms in the middle of the sea. If you’re so emotionally weak, I’ll advice you don’t read this book (haha). Now, the third one that falls on the list is “Ighayo”; he is a superhero whose mission would be to send the red dragon to abyss.
How do you fight out a 'Writer's Block' ?
Commitment and focus is the key. That’s what I have to say here.
What are the problems that you have faced in your Author journey?
Editing. Take a look at this “Not that we don’t know what to do, we just don’t know how to go about it” or “We know what to do but we don’t have the resources to make it a reality, that’s why we seek for help”.
Sometimes I hire and make use of English programs to correct my grammar to fit into Standard English. That’s a challenge for non-English guru authors. And thanks to the available platforms helping people like us out there.
What Genre of Books do you create and Why you chose it?
Like I said, a lot of things motivate me so I can’t specify. However, I pick interest in science and mysteries.
What does your typical writing day looks like?
I’ll say great. I think this is more like asking me, what’s your hobby?. But, don’t visit or call me on those days (almost everyday), it will slow me down if you do. Just send me a text message and we’ll arrange for an appointment (hope that’s not hash on my visitors – dude, don’t take it personal please).
As an author , what do you think is the best thing about writing?
Where can people contact you ?

If we try and “descend†to the extent of others when preaching the Gospel, we run the grave threat of watering down the Gospel and not presenting the fullness of the truth.
