Are you happy about being an Author?
I am happy about being an author. I get to tell stories the way I want to tell them. I get to let my imagination run wild and translate it to stories, characters, worlds, and emotion.
What's your motivation as an author and what have you learnt from writing books?
My motivation as an author is telling stories how I want regardless of how it goes against the norm of storytelling. I have learned that it’s going to take time. Pace yourself and be ready to face criticism. All types of criticism.
As an author , what do you think are the positive things about your writings?
I would say that my stories veering off from the norm of what and how storytelling should be, is a positive. Someone reading Inevitable might become inspired to write or structure their stories a new or unorthodox way.
Which book or e-books have you published and which are in pipeline?
The only book I have published is called Inevitable. It’s a science fiction, action novel and a sequel is on its way. It’s available as a paperback and an e-book. The synopsis reads:
In an alternate timeline, the code to cracking technological advancement hasn’t panned out well for mankind to elevate the globe to newer heights. However, a mysterious and dormant tech giant suddenly begins to usher the world into a technological boom.
Andre Marshall, who decides to work for this organization, is exposed to its overwhelming secrets. Possessing this newly acquired information, he journeys on a dangerous path of bringing the company to justice. A path towards the life he never wanted.
What's your advice for budding authors?
My advice to budding authors are to keep moving forward. Do NOT quit. Continue reading and writing. I would also say, use the feedback, especially the negative feedback, to get better as a writer.
Do you believe in "Writer's Block"?
Yes! I do. There are times where you know the words and scene, but your mind isn’t there. Also, there are times where nothing comes to mind. I believe, sometimes, it’s a draining period. You’re just burnt out? I think. So, you have to take a break, however long and come back to it.
What are the problems that you have faced in your Author journey?
Problems I’ve faced have been pacing, structure, query letters, time, and writer’s block.
What Genre of Books do you create and Why you chose it ?
Right now, Inevitable is a science fiction novel. There’s another project I have that is Fantasy. So, there will be a mix of those genres in my work. I’ve just always been fascinated with futuristic things, cybernetics, space, and created worlds.
If you could tell something to your younger writing self , what would it be ?
Do you try more to be original or to deliver to readers what they want ?
Definitely more original. I love it when authors or artists do original. It’s done their way and can inspire more to be original. I feel if you deliver what your readers want, then it’s not your story anymore.
