LUV LUBKER’S INTERVIEW

Read Time: 2 minutes
  • Please mention Your Name and a few lines of what you believe in  OR you can also add few punchlines from your book !

My name is Luv Lubker. “All things work together for good, to those who love God.”

  • Are you happy about being an Author?

I love my writing! My parents and friends always said I should write a book since I started my Victorian era research 10 years ago, but I always said I didn’t know how. Now I do.

  • What’s your inspiration as an author?

Authors/books I am inspired by include Charlotte Bronte (Jane Eyre, Shirley, Villette), Anne Bronte (Tenant of Wildfell Hall), Wilkie Collins (The Woman in White), Lucy Maud Montgomery (Anne of Green Gables series, Emily of New Moon series, Story Girl series), M.I. McAllister (Mistmantle Chronicles Series), Brian Jacques (Redwall series, Castaways series). And of course the Royal family members who I am writing about – Queen Victoria, her daughter Vicky (Princess Royal), Fritz (Vicky’s husband, later Friedrich III German Emperor), their letters and diaries and others including Marie of Romania’s book The Story of My Life, Felix Yussopov’s book Lost Splendour, and many others.

  • What are the best things or positive things about your stories ?

The love story of Vicky and Fritz, and his kind, caring nature. His story is an amazing one and has not been told as a compelling story. She, too, is of course a fascinating character.

  • Which book or books have you published and which are in pipeline? (( You can also write about each of them if you wish to)

I have written Under His Spell, The Rival Courts, book 1. It is the story of Vicky and Fritz’s youth, courtship and first 4 years of marriage. I have a series of 6 books planned about their story, and possible two other series under the Rival Courts theme.

  • How to deal with a  “Writer’s Block”?

One thing I did when I felt stuck and critical of my work was read it but think it in the voice of one of my favorite audiobook readers – Barbara Caruso, Juliet Stevenson, Brian Jacques were some who came to mind – and it helped me get “out of my own head.”

  • Any “Top tips” for writers starting out?

I don’t know.

  • What are the problems that you have faced in your Author journey?

Not having the information I needed yet. I’m still researching even though I have researched the Victorian era Royals for 7 years.

  • How did you approach the writing process? Do you have a set routine or does it vary?

If varies. I write when it “downloads” into my head.

  • For you , what makes a great story ?

A good romance, adventure, quest, mission, friendships, etc.

  • What Genre of Books do you create and Why you chose it ?

My books are Historical Romance. The story is already there, I’m just writing it in story format (writing based on historical events) so that is the genre it is.
