Question 1 : Please let me know something that you believe in OR few punchlines from your books?
Answer : I believe that most, if not all, of us have secrets that our partners or close friends do not know. We generally don’t reveal everything about ourselves.
Question 2 : Are you happy about being an Author?
Answer : I am very happy to tell stories—and to have others enjoy them!
Question 3 : What’s your inspiration as an author?
Answer : Although they are fiction, my stories are inspired by events in my life.
Question 4 : What are the best things or positive things about your stories ?
Answer : I think everyone can relate to the stories. Men who have read my first book were surprised how much they liked it. They thought it would appeal only to women.
Question 5 : Which book or books have you published and which are in pipeline?
Answer : “Beneath A Blanket Of Snow” was published in July 2020. I am working on my second novel, tentatively titled “If We Had Known”, which I hope to publish in the spring of 2021.
Question 6 : How to deal with a “Writer’s Block”?
Answer : Sometimes I work on another passage or chapter—write out of order and organize later. Often I walk away from my work. When my mind is unencumbered it’s easier for me to craft an idea or a scene, then put it on paper.
Question 7 : Any “Top tips” for writers starting out?
Answer : I was never one to focus attention on myself, but it’s necessary to do this if I want to promote my books. Unless I want to hire someone to do it for me, I have to shine a spotlight on my book, and on the great reviews I’ve gotten from my readers.
Question 8 : What are the problems that you have faced in your Author journey?
Answer : There are so many choices for readers. It’s difficult to get my name and my books to them. Marketing is a challenge. Spending lots of money to market myself isn’t always the answer. I’ve learned a lot about social media. I am grateful to people like you for allowing new and indie authors a chance to promote ourselves.
Question 9 : How did you approach the writing process? Do you have a set routine or does it vary?
Answer : I have an outline of sorts—mostly in my head. I usually work out the story line in my head before putting it on paper. Sometimes my characters decide on a different angle of the story. That’s the best part!
Question 10 : For you , what makes a great story ?
Answer : Character development is very important, as well as a believable story without major holes in the plot.
I’ve had readers tell me that they didn’t like a particular character in my book. I was very happy to hear that, because if I’ve developed a character well enough to be disliked, then that character was believable.
Question 11 : What Genre of Books do you create and Why you chose it ?
Answer : I write what I consider Family Fiction; stories about families, not just women. That’s the type of book I enjoy reading the most, so it’s not surprising I would like to write in that genre.

Answer : It’s never too late to do something new. I had retired from a career in health care when I decided to write a novel. I was 63 years old when “Beneath A Blanket Of Snow” was released in 2020. I started taking piano lessons, playing Mah Jongg, and riding a bicycle for recreation—in my fifties.
