Most of my time is spent caring for my kids and focusing on how to better our life. I am a spiritual person who believes in the power of love and kindness towards others. I focus most of my time focusing on the positive with faith that it will create more positivity.

Are you happy about being an Author?

I have dreamed about being a published author for over three years (when I first wrote my story). Life got in the way as it sometimes does, and my dream got put on hold. The Covid pandemic has given me some extra time on my hands and my dream got put back on the front row seat! With a lot of work and effort I finally got my book out for the world to enjoy. I could not be happier with the results and know that this is just the beginning. I have more books in the creation process and am working towards sharing them with the world as well.

To see my book on the market is a dream come true. When I created the story, I instantly fell in love with it! Being a mother, I thought to myself this is a story I would love to read to my kids. The thought of families all around the world enjoying this book makes it all worth it!
Having my book published has given me a new sense of accomplishment and I feel it will be a part of my legacy. My dream is that my book will continue to be enjoyed long after I am gone.

The day my book went live I could not share the exciting news fast enough! When my friends and family got word, I was overwhelmed with love and support. Tears of joy filled my eyes as I saw people rejoicing in a dream of mine that has come true!
I express gratitude everyday for this blessing and sit in anticipation to see where this book will take my family and me.

What's your motivation as an author and what have you learnt from writing books?

I have never dreamed of becoming an author growing up. It was never something that crossed my mind. I struggled with English language arts in school and never believed I had what it took.

Until one day, I can remember it like it was yesterday I got inspired! I came home from work one night, while decompressing I was reflecting on a comical event I experienced with my children and their dog.

Beautiful phases and rhymes came to mind and I felt compelled to write. As I started writing I felt filled with joy and energy. I could not put the pen down. That is how my story was created.

So, what is my motivation? It is inspiration and the faith that this inspiration was presented to me for a reason. I had a story to tell before I even knew I had one. I knew that once I wrote my story, I needed to find away to share it with the world. It was the beginning a new journey that I am so happy I chose to part take in.

I have learned many things throughout this process. Publishing a book requires a lot of Research and discipline. The learning process has not always been easy, but I have grown in the learning process. I have learned a lot about myself and have found a new passion. I have a story to tell. I have also gained confidence that I can do whatever I put my mind to!

As an author , what do you think are the positive things about your writings?

My book is one of exploration and appreciation. My hopes are that my book will inspire those that read it to choose the path least traveled by and to appreciate all the surprises (good or bad) that may show up along the way.
I think that my accomplishment is positive, as it’s a story of a young mother with a dream that she never gave up one, no matter how hard it became.

Which book or e-books have you published and which are in pipeline?

My book is called Troy’s Journey written by Jessica Jodoin and illustrated by Lillian Brown ( who is my sister). It is published through amazon and will soon be available at Walmart, barns and noble and many more.

What's your advice for budding authors?

My advice would be do your research! There are some many wonderfully places you can get advice on the worldwide wed. Join facebook groups. Emerge yourself in the writing community.

But most of all do not give up! You will hit roadblocks and it will be hard at times, but every mistake is a lesson learned and a step closer to your dream.

Do you believe in "Writer's Block"?

I believe that inspirations come at the most unexpected times and the best work gets created during these times. You can write all you want but if your heart is not in it, more often them not the finished product will reflect that. I do not know if I believe in writer’s block, but I believe in inspiration!

What are the problems that you have faced in your Author journey?

One of the biggest problems I have faced was the publishing process. The story and illustrations seemed to have come naturally, but when it can down to the publishing process there is so much information out there.

Choosing to self-publish or try for traditional publishing was an easy choice to make. I was in a hurry to see my book in physical form so waiting around for a publishing company to sign me did not seem like a logical choice. There are so many different options when it comes to self-publishing, so finding the one that was right for me was a process.

Right now, my biggest struggle is marketing my book correctly and getting it to the readers. This is just another learning curve that I will grow from.

What Genre of Books do you create and Why you chose it ?

I write children’s books mostly fantasy because that is what I am inspired by. I find my inspiration from my kids. I love reading to my kids, especially if the story has a nice ring to it, I wanted to be a part of the.

What advice would you give to your younger self ?

Don’t give up because you will get passed the roadblocks. Have faith in your dream.

Do you prefer more of an original flow or stick to what readers want?

I try to be authentic, if it’s something I wouldn’t want to read to my kids I wont publish it.
