AN INTERVIEW WITH VERONICA
Question 1 :Please let me know something that you believe in OR few punchlines from your books?
Answer : I am Veronica. I grew up in Mumbai, India. I hold a decade-long experience in Marketing and Sales, a homepreneur managing a Food business. I prefer a calm mind while writing, so usually I write early in the morning, and spend the rest of the day managing my business. I love spending a lot of time with my Retriever Jazz and write inspirational stories @ www.cuspofdestiny.com. I prefer Spending time in silence, hearing the inner narratives me talking to me.
One & Done is my first book. My mission is to help couples see a broader perspective as single-child parents, how a single-child family can be a happy family.
Question 2 : Are you happy about being an Author?
Answer : Yes. Very much. I love writing since my early days. As a child when I would want to be taken seriously I would write my demands, my requests to my parents on a piece of paper, and put it on the kitchen table hoping that mom would see it the first thing in the morning.
I also had a habit of ruling out differences with my classmates, by writing notes for them.
The best part of writing is you can easily transfer your happiness, your joy, your pain on a piece of paper and feel relieved about it. you may not always have a human being to hear you out, but writing helps you a lot to transfer all your emotions on paper.
Question 3 :What’s your inspiration as an author?
Answer :Self-motivation is very important. There may be a whole lot of people trying to inspire you, motivate you, but all those efforts will affect a result only if one is self-motivated and passionate about making it big, making a difference for self and society at large. One & Done is my first published book. The first important aspect of writing is integrity. Being a mom of an only daughter, writing the book was a transformation for me too. What you intend to convey to your readers, needs to be first conveyed to your own self. That’s the best part about writing a self-help book. Even before the reader picks and reads and practices it for great results, the author should be the first virtual reader to implement what he/ she has written. Honestly, on days when there were minor conflicts with my daughter, it would be a clash of thoughts, in my mind. I would find it difficult to write a particular idea if it didn’t yield results for me. So I would just pause, implement what I would have written or what I would want to present to the readers, and only then my mind would be in a peaceful state to resume writing. It isn’t just writing, but something that came from within, that guided me to write. It’s a divine feeling for me.
Question 4 :What are the best things or positive things about your stories ?
Answer : Based on the feedback from my readers…my style of writing has always been a narrative. Rather than plain sentences, I strive to make the readers feel as if it is a conversation with their friend or with someone close to them. My readers appreciate this. I feel this is positive about my book. I write not just as a passion, but to delight the readers too.
Question 5 :Which book or books have you published and which are in pipeline?
Answer :One & Done-How to stand by your Decision of Creating a Happy Family with Your Only Child is my debut book. The book is an attempt to bring in positive feelings, re-affirm positivity, about having an Only- child. The book touched upon various topics like being happy, being grateful, how spirituality helps……in raising a single child. Also for the parents, the moms -how do they handle unwanted advice, suggestions about going for the second child…
My next one is One & Done with a Son, hoping to release by June 2021.
Question 6 :How to deal with a “Writer’s Block”?
Answer :Yes! I had this block. Who will read my book? will they like it? what if no one buys my book? Am I an expert to write a book? Am I even qualified to write? What about grammatical errors? I had n ‘number of questions… until I just decided…I told myself..” come what may. You are just gonna write. write for just one person- your reader Avatar…. and then it was fine. I started and continued.
Question 7 :Any “Top tips” for writers starting out?
Answer : Write and see if after 15 days you will come to know your mistakes, rectify it & again write.
Question 8 :What are the problems that you have faced in your Author journey?
Answer :Honestly at times, managing the home front and the household chores especially during covid, was a little disturbing. Waking up at 4 am and hitting the bed at 2:30 or 3:00 was exhausting. But it was worth it. I learned a lot, read so many articles, gathered information that improved my knowledge. This was my bonus, my reward in exchange for my sleep.
Question 9 :If you could tell something to your younger writing self, what would it be?
Answer : Hey Veron, Don’t dream about success, just work for it. Go for it, Before you leave this earth give something back to it. Be a contributor, not just a receiver.
Question 10 :Do you try more to be original or to deliver to readers what they want?
Answer : Yes. I prefer being original, something which one can relate to in their day-to-day affairs. Even if it’s a story or fiction I try to make them sound real.
Question 11 :What Genre of Books do you create and Why you chose it ?
Answer :Self-help, non-fiction. I feel comfortable sharing experiences and my knowledge, with the hope that someone else will be benefitted.

Question 13 :Any final parting advice?
Answer :Dear budding authors, Start writing, be consistent. Write every day. Slowly you will gather momentum. keep going. Don’t aim for a 1K or5K wordcount. Aim for consistent writing. Somedays you will be on a high… Words will seem flowing free, while other days you may stumble and lose interest. On these days just keep calm, read some topics, some articles similar to your topic. or just take a pause from writing, but go for reading, feeding ideas to your creative mind. YOU JUST NEED TO KEEP MOVING, THINKING.
